The Kamloops Blazers are encouraging fans to wear white to Games 3 and 4 of their Western Conference Championship Series against the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Ticketing and Promotions Coordinator Missy Cederholm says its one way to try and increase the atmosphere inside Sandman Centre.
“In the first couple of rounds we’ve definitely had fans that we requesting that on social media. We tried to do a little bit in the first two series but it didn’t really take off, so now we’re really encouraging fans to wear white,” she said.
“I know the players on the ice are focused on the game but you can’t help but think that the crowd does have an impact and can help to swing momentum at times. The atmosphere in the building has been fantastic all season, our fans have been fantastic all year, and I expect noting less in the playoffs.”

Fans hoping to buy white – or other – Blazers gear can do so at the corner store, though Cederholm cautions that supplies are limited.
“Most people have a white shirt so it doesn’t necessarily have to be something new that they’re going out and buying,” she said. “They can still come in and feel like they’re really part of it and hope to create that environment that shows we’re supporting the same team.”
As well, fans are being encouraged to bring back their playoff towels if they have some from either of the first two playoff series.
“We’ll have some [to hand out],” she said. “The league has Nutrien as the sponsor for the Western Conference final so they’ll be bringing in some towels, though it won’t be the same number that were coming in the last two rounds.”
“We’re encouraging fans to bring back their towels if they came to the first couple of games to help create that atmosphere even more.”
Limited tickets are available to both Games 3 and 4 here. Game 6, if necessary, will be on Monday, May 8.
The Blazers trail the best-of-seven series 2-0, dropping Game 1 to Seattle 5-1 Saturday and Game 2 4-3 in overtime on Sunday.
