Kamloops RCMP are asking for help in identifying a suspect who robbed a Valleyview business while he was accompanied by a school-aged child.
Mounties say they were called to a business at Valleyview Square in the 2100-block of the East Trans Canada Highway around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 10.
Corporal Crystal Evelyn says among the things stolen was a red Fill-Rite Fuel Pump and a pair of shears.
“The suspect was in the company of a school-age boy, approximately eight to 10 years old,” Evelyn said. “We are releasing an image of the suspect and a non-identifying image of the boy, in hopes that someone from the public will recognize them and contact police so that we may further the investigation.”
The suspect is described as a white man in his late 20s or early 30s. He was wearing an orange hoodie with a white logo on the left, a ball cap with sunglasses on top, dark pants, and grey shoes.
The boy was also white with light coloured hair. He was dressed in dark clothing and a hoodie with a red logo on the left.
Evelyn says the pair left the store in a white Ford F-250 pickup truck with license plates that were reported stolen out of Merritt.
She says people who can identify the man, the child, or those with information about the stolen fuel pump, should contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-16193.
