The two business improvement associations in Kamloops are teaming up to host a pub crawl this Friday ahead of the opening game of the Memorial Cup.
Stops include Bright Eye Brewing, Yew Street Food Hall, and Red Beard Cafe on the North Shore as well as Alchemy Brewing, Red Collar Brewing and Noble Pig downtown.
“[North Shore Business Improvement Association Executive Director] Jeremy Heighton and I have a very good relationship and we’re really trying to work to better not only our BIAs but to expand it as well,” Kamloops Central BIA Executive Director Howie Reimer said.
Speaking on the NL Morning News, Reimer says you’ll have to get to your first pub and then back home on your own.
“There will be free transportation [every 30 minutes] that is going to just circle these six brewpubs and you can hop-on and hop-off as you please,” Reimer added. “The pub crawl will run between the hours of noon and 5 o’clock which is just about an hour before the start of the game at 6 o’clock.”
He says this particular pub crawl is aimed at giving tourists who come to Kamloops for the Memorial Cup a chance to sample local brew pubs. Depending on its success, the pub crawl could return on a regular basis allowing locals to take part.
You can get more information about the pub crawl on the KCBIA’s Facebook event page.
