An evacuation alert is still in place to all but one property at 1055 Old Cariboo Rd., with that one unit on evacuation order.
A high streamflow advisory remains in effect for the Bonaparte River due to high water levels caused by rainfall runoff last week.
“On the South Thompson River, levels have reached peak levels, but have yet to experience a declining trend,” the River Forecast Centre said. “Levels are expected to remain high over the coming days before receding, and no significant additional river rises are expected at this time.”
The Village of Cache Creek is also hosting a Flood Recovery and Resilience Open House at the Community Hall on Wednesday, May 31, where residents can ask questions to officials from a number of agencies.
“The public is invited to come and gather the information they need to recover from the flooding,” the Village said.
“We will have booths with representatives from Disaster Financial Assistance, The Equality Project, Interior Health, Community Futures, Service Canada, South Cariboo Elizabeth Fry Society, Disaster PsychoSocial Services, the TNRD and others.”
