The Yew Street Block Party and Mega Night Market is taking place on the North Shore in Kamloops this weekend.
North Shore Business Improvement Association Marketing Director Patti Philips says the event will run from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday.
“We’ve got 28 vendors, it is all going to be lined up from Spirit Square, we have a whole bunch of vendors in there, and then it will line up all the way down Yew Street to Tranquille as well as in the Red Beard parking lot.”
Philips says there will be beer gardens, food and a plethora of activities for people of all ages to enjoy.
“It is family friendly, Sancho the clown is going to be there, there is face painting, there are crafts, lots of interactive stuff for kids to do.”
On top of that, she says cyclists can park their bikes for free at the bike valet.
“The bike valet will be in Spirit Square, so you can bring your bike and it is free, and there will be four people there all the time, it will all be fenced in and its very safe. It is like a coat check, you leave your bike and helmet, they give you a ticket — go eat, drink, and enjoy the vendors and what not, and then come pick your bike up.”
Additionally, Philips says the Misfit Night Market will take over the Effie Arts Collective, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
