4:30pm UPDATE:

However, a small pocket of 6 customers will be without power until around 8pm in the area directly affected by this afternoon’s earlier fire.
ORIGINAL STORY
A grass fire reportedly set off by a fire on a power pole has left around 22-hundred people without power.
Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to the grass fire on Springhill Drive around 2pm.
Initial indications, according to KFR, is the pole caught fire after a bird strike.
As a result, BC Hydro was forced to cut power, affecting homes and businesses in the Lower Sahali neighborhood, as well as pockets of Hydro customers to the southwest.
No word yet from BC Hydro as to when power may be restored.
However, outages of this nature rarely last more than a couple of hours at most.
