UPDATE 6 p.m. – BC Wildfire Service crews made quick work of a spot fire near McGregor Creek, just south of Harper Mountain.
The suspected lightning-caused fire was declared out around 5:38 p.m. Monday, July 17, about six hours after it was discovered east of Kamloops.
The BC Wildfire Service said it has one helicopter and an initial attack crew on the fire which was estimated to be about 0.009 hectares in size.
