It’s another Provincial Soccer title for Kamloops.
The Soccer Quest 2010 boys captured the Under-13 Provincial “B” Cup at the Les Sinnott Memorial Tournament in Langley to cap a near perfect season.
After suffering their first loss of the season in the round robin, the boys rebounded to beat Langley 5-1 in the BC Provincial Final.
“Honestly I thought we played really strong and confident. There were some nerves to begin the tournament but as we got into it, we got our confidence and pushed through,” team captain Jakob Fleishauer, said.
The club was coming off a dominating performance in capturing a TOYSL championship but had to push through a loss in the tournament – their first of the season.
“We went to a waterpark in Aldergrove. We had fun and did some team bonding. The next day that might have depleted some of our injury and maybe that was a reason we lost (laughing),” Jakob said.
Fleishauer scored twice in the championship game and admits they put it away and were able to celebrate in the end.
“After we get up two goals, it’s just full attack by everybody,” he said. “We were all cheering there was a big party afterwards…just a lot of good energy.”
Bryson Frudd, Nick Schneider and Hudson Steeves scored the other goals in the final.
