A powerful storm which hammered the Kamloops area yesterday afternoon has left behind a new pair of wildfires.
Both spot size at present, one is burning about 10-kilometers due east of Sun Peaks, while the other is further out to to the northeast of Chase — burning right next to Loakin-Bear Creek Road, which is a popular route for back-country enthusiasts.
No word if that fire will affect traffic along that route.
Meanwhile, the two fires which have been burning to the north of that area near Adams Lake continue to grow in size.

The so-called Bush Creek East fire was still listed as 265-hectares as of early Monday evening.
However, that fire is expected to have grown, given the winds which rolled over the area during the storm.
The other fire to the opposite side of Adams Lake – the Lower East Adams Lake fire – is still listed at 60-hectares.
That is expected to change later today as fire crews get a better assessment of the impact of yesterday’s storm.
The storm, which packed wind gusts of around 70-kilometers per hour at times in the mid-afternoon, was strong enough to knock out power to downtown Kamloops for a time, while also spraying Sun Peaks with a deluge of hail.
Power was fully restored in Kamloops a couple of hours later, while there haven’t been any reports of damage from the hail storm.
