The Florida Panthers have resigned Kamloops native John Ludvig to a two-year, two-way contract.
The 22-year-old put up 17 points (three goals and 14 assists) in 54 regular season games with the Panthers’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers during the 2022-23 season.
He also skated in seven AHL playoff games registering two points.
Ludvig, a six-foot-one defenceman has 25 points (five goals and 20 assists) in 70 career AHL games with the Syracuse Crunch (2020-21) and Charlotte Checkers (2021-22 to 2022-23).
He missed most of the 2021-22 season to injury, playing in just three games.
A third round pick of the Panthers in the 2019 NHL Draft, Ludvig skated for three seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Portland Winterhawks, and captained the team in his final season.
