B.C.’s police watchdog is investigating a Saturday night crash in Kamloops that left one man with serious injuries.
The Independent Investigations Office says it was told by Kamloops RCMP that just before 11 p.m. on July 22, an officer responding to an unrelated incident parked and left their police vehicle in the westbound lanes of the Trans Canada near Holman Road.
“A short time later, there was a collision between a motorcycle, the parked police vehicle, and another stationary emergency vehicle,” the IIO said, in a statement. “The rider of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries in the collision and was transported to the hospital for treatment.”
The IIO says it was notified about the crash on Sunday, noting it will first look to confirm details, and then whether the actions or inactions of the police officers
