BC RCMP say the man found dead along Paul Lake Road earlier this month was the victim of foul play.
In an update Saturday, August 5, RCMP identified the victim as Kamloops area man, Jason Aran Martin.
“Investigators believe that Mr. Martin’s death was an isolated event and that no public threat exists,” said Staff Sgt. Jason Smart of the RCMP’s Southeast District Major Crime Unit.
Paul Lake Road just east of Highway 5 was closed in both directions between Chief Louis Way and Cold Creek Road at 12:30 a.m. on August 1. It remained closed for most of the day as officers investigated the scene where Martin’s body was discovered.
Anyone with information, video, or dash camera footage from Paul Lake Road, the Halston Connector, or the North Shore of Kamloops between 10 pm. on July 31 and 2 a.m. on August 1 is being told to contact the Southeast District Major Crime Unit Tip Line at 1-877-987-8477.
People who also had any communications or dealings with Martin on July 31 prior to his death are also being told to reach out to investigators.
