Cooper Neville has earned an ‘honourable mention’ as the West Coast League released its All-Star teams for the 2023 season.
The rookie infielder from Glendale, Arizona, was one of the brightest lights in what was a difficult sophomore season for the Kamloops NorthPaws.
Neville finished with 50 hits and 26 runs in 183 at bats, giving him a .273 batting average though 52 games. The six-foot shortstop/second baseman had six doubles and two triples, and 22 RBIs.
He also had a fielding percentage of .925 with 29 put outs and 69 assists.
Unlike the 2022 season, when six NorthPaws earned All-WCL honours, Neville was the only member of this years team to be recognized.
He will be going into his freshman season at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona this fall.
