RCMP in Kamloops are investigating after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a pickup truck on the North Shore around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday night.
Police say an off-duty officer witnessed the crash between a northbound motorcycle and a southbound pickup truck at the intersection of 8th Street and Richmond Avenue.
Kamloops RCMP Spokesperson, Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, says a retired paramedic in the area attended to the motorcyclist, who later succumbed to their injuries.
Evelyn says the driver of the pickup, who has been cooperating with investigators, did not appear to have any serious injuries.
“Frontline officers, the Kamloops RCMP Traffic Unit, and a collision reconstructionist have been involved in the investigation, which is well underway and progressing,” Evelyn said.
People who witnessed the crash or have video footage of it are being told to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-29997.
