Kamloops RCMP are investigating a shooting at an Aberdeen motel which was followed by a vehicle on fire early Saturday morning.
Police say they were called to a report of shots fired at a unit in a motel on the 1300-block of Hugh Allan Drive around 2:35 a.m. Sept. 16. While police did not name the motel, according to Google Maps the only one on that block is the Alpine Motel at 1393 Hugh Allan Drive.
Mounties say while they were able to determine that shots were fired, there found no one with injuries when they got to the scene
Shortly after the shooting – around 2:50 a.m. – police say the suspect vehicle, a black Dodge Ram, was found on fire in the 2000-block of Tremerton Drive in Upper Sahali, about 2.5 km away from the scene of the shooting.
Police say that vehicle had been reported stolen from a house on Balfour Court about five minutes before the shooting.
“Police, including frontline officers, members of the Police Dog Service Unit, the Kamloops RCMP Forensic Identification Services Unit, and the General Investigations Support Team, are all involved in the investigation, which remains in its early stages,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said.
“We are asking anyone who has any security or dash cam footage, or information related to the stolen vehicle report, shooting, or fire, to please contact police as soon as possible.”
Police say two suspects connected to the shooting were described as men. One was dressed in a black top, dark pants, and white shoes with orange on the back while the other was in a black top, blue jeans, and black shoes with orange on the bottom.
