For the second time in three days, Kamloops Mounties are investigating a shooting, this time on the North Shore.
Mounties were called to the 700-block of Tranquille Road around 2:40 a.m. this morning, Sept. 18. They say while there was evidence of gunshots hitting an apartment, they found no one with injuries in the area.
“Based on the preliminary investigation, this morning’s incident appears to have been targeted,” RCMP spokesperson, Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, said. “At this time, it’s unknown if it’s related to Saturday’s shooting in Aberdeen.”
Evelyn says RCMP officers were canvassing the North Kamloops neighbourhood today looking for evidence and witnesses. They have not released any information on suspects or a suspect vehicle in Monday’s shooting.
But police did release pictures of a pair of suspects in Saturday’s shooting at a motel on Hugh Allan Drive.
They also say – a black Dodge Ram – was found on fire in the 2000-block of Tremerton Drive in Upper Sahali, about 2.5 km away. That vehicle had been reported stolen from a house on Balfour Court about five minutes before the shooting.
“It’s very fortunate that no one was injured in either of this week’s occurrences, but the threat to the public associated with firearms offences is one that’s very real and can come with tragic consequences,” Evelyn added.
“It’s extremely important for anyone who has information that could help further this investigation to reach out to police as soon as possible.”
People with information are asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-33922 for Monday’s shooting, and 2023-33666 for Saturday’s shooting .
