Merritt RCMP say they seized over five hundred marijuana plants and about a thousand seedlings from a rural property on Panorama Drive last Thursday.
Mounties say they executed a search warrant on the property on Oct. 5.
“One male was taken in custody in relation to the investigation and later released,” Merritt RCMP Sgt. Brock Hedrick said in a statement.
“The Merritt RCMP will be forwarding the results of their investigation to the Federal Prosecution Service in support of charges in relation to the Cultivation of Cannabis in a dwelling house under the Cannabis Act.”
Under the Cannabis Control and Licensing Act, adults over the age of 19 years are allowed to grow up to four non-medical cannabis plants at home.
