RCMP say a 29-year-old Kamloops man has been charged with two counts of sexual assault after a pair of incidents this summer.
Police say their investigation began on July 17 after two women reported incidents that occurred at the same location – the 200-block of Seymour Street – within minutes of each other around 4:40 that evening.
Mounties say the BC Prosecution Service approved charges against Justin James Brown-Henderson on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
“In working together with our frontline officers, members of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment’s Sex Crimes Unit and General Investigations Support Team were able to quickly identify a suspect and advance the investigation to the charge recommendation stage,” RCMP Superintendent Jeff Pelley said.
“On Oct. 4, the BC Prosecution Service approved charges and requested a warrant for the accused, leading to his being taken into custody by police on Oct. 5, where he remains until his next court appearance.”
Brown-Henderson’s next court appearance is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 13.
Police say no further information will be released as the matter is now before the courts.
