A number of Canadian Armed Forces personnel will be training in the Lac Du Bois area near Kamloops later this month.
Captain Graeme Kaine, a Public Affairs Officer with the 39 Canadian Brigade Group Headquarters says the training exercise will take place between October 26 and 29.
“People may see members of The British Columbia Regiment, The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, The Royal Westminster Regiment, and 39 Service Support Regiment, from Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Reserve units in Vancouver conducting combined arms training in the Lac Du Bois area,” Kaine said.
“Nearby residents can expect to hear occasional noise from the firing of blank ammunition.”
Kaine says this four day training exercise will include some night training as well. Residents in the area are being told to expect increased traffic in the area as well as a large administrative camp.
“As members of the Canadian Army Reserve in British Columbia, soldiers of these regiments train during evenings and weekends while serving as a part time component of the Canadian Armed Forces, Army Reserve units are progressively working together to maintain their skills in combined arms training,” Kaine said.
