The Kamloops Blazers gave up three unanswered goals in the third period in a 5-2 defeat to the Tri-City Americans Saturday night.
The Blazers went 0-3 on the U.S. Division road trip as their losing streak extended to six games, one of which was in overtime.
Just like they did on all three games this week, the Blazers struck first in the first period. Dylan Sydor’s third of the year at 7:23 opened the scoring for Kamloops.

Deagan McMillan at 18:04 of the first and Lukas Dragicevic at 5:39 of the second gave the Americans the 2-1 lead at the Toyota Center, but 16-year-old Andrew Thomson ensured the two teams were tied at 2-2 after 40 minutes of hockey.

Jordan Gavin, Nick Anisimovicz, and Parker Bell all found the back of the net for Tri-City in the third period to give the Americans their fourth win of the season.
Gavin’s game winner was the only power play goal scored Saturday night. It came as Ashton Tait was serving a double minor for slew-footing.
Dylan Ernst turned aside 32 of 37 shots he faced in a losing effort. His counterpart Lukas Matecha made 23 saves on 25 shots to pick up the win.
The Blazers remain in last place in the WHL with a 1-5-2 record through eight games.
They’re set to return to Sandman Centre for a pair of games against Eastern Conference opponents next week.
The Swift Current Broncos are in Kamloops on Tuesday, Oct. 17, followed by the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday, Oct. 20.
