The Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment is looking for witnesses and information after what appeared to be a targeted shooting this weekend.
Police were called to a house in the Mountain View Estates subdivision, located in the 1000-block of Ricardo Road around 10:50 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says police found evidence that shots had been fired and also came across a vehicle that appeared to be doused in an accelerant.
“Based on the investigation so far, the incident appears to be targeted toward one residence in particular,” Evelyn said. “Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the gunfire, which could have easily resulted in a more tragic outcome.”
Evelyn says people who witnessed the incident or anything suspicious Friday night should contact the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment at 250-314-1800 and reference file 2023-37110.
“If you have security or dash camera footage in the area, please have a look at it and see if it captured anything that may be relevant to the investigation,” Evelyn said.
