Former Kamloops Blazer Hnat Domenichelli has been named part of Hockey Canada’s management group for the 2023 Spengler Cup.
The 47-year-old will serve as Assistant General Manager for Canada’s entry into tournament, which will take place between Dec. 26 and 31 in Davos, Switzerland.
As a Blazer, Domenichelli won two Memorial Cups in 1994 and 1995, and was a fourth round pick (86th overall) of the Hartford Whalers in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
Domenichelli is currently into his fifth season as general manager of HC Lugano of the Swiss National League, following a 922 game career in the NHL, AHL, and the Swiss A league that spanned 18 seasons.
He represented Canada nine times in international play, winning a gold medal at the 1996 World Juniors. He also suited up at the Spengler Cup on four occasions, winning the tournament in 2003.
Domenichelli also represented Switzerland at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver after he became a Swiss citizen in 2009.

The Edmonton native will work alongside Brad Pascall, currently the Calgary Flames Asst. GM and the recently retired Joe Thornton, who will serve as co-general managers.
Domenichelli and Thornton are set to make their international management debuts, while Pascall makes his return to Canada’s National Men’s Team after he departed Hockey Canada for the Flames in 2014.
