Thompson Rivers WolfPack men’s soccer head coach John Antulov has been named BC Soccer’s Coach of the Year for 2023.
The Kamloops native was recognized by BC Soccer for his many years of coaching at a gala in Vancouver Saturday night
“It’s humbling to be recognized with this award, it doesn’t happen often – especially for coaches in the Interior – so to be recognized by BC Soccer for this is a huge accomplishment,” Antulov said, in a release via TRU.
The award comes one year after Antulov led the TRU men’s team to a U SPORTS national title for the first time in program history.
The WolfPack began their title defence with five losses, but were able to turn things around and finish the year on a 7-2-1 run.
It earned the WolfPack’s sixth-consecutive Canada West playoff berth though they were beaten 2-1 by the Mount Royal Cougars in extra time in the quarterfinals.
Alongside his work at TRU, Antulov is also heavily involved with the Kamloops Vancouver Whitecaps Academy.
He is also head coach of the River FC men’s team in the semi-professional League 1 BC.
