A “temporary system disruption” at the Suncor Kamloops terminal has led some gas stations in the Kamloops-area to run out of fuel Friday.
“The Suncor fuel terminal has been unable to dispense fuel for the past 36 hours,” Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc said in a post on Facebook. “They are currently still down, as of 10:45am today.”
“We are diligently working on sourcing out fuel from other terminals within the province.”
In an email to Radio NL, a Suncor spokesperson confirmed the issues at the Kamloops terminal, which is located by the airport.
“As a result, there may be temporary fuel outages at some regional retail and commercial stations,” Leithan Slade told Radio NL. “We’re working hard to resolve the issue and replenish fuel at any impacted Petro-Canada sites, including sourcing alternate supply.”
“We apologize for any inconvenience.”
Tk’emlúps says its Petro-Canada station at Highway 5 and Shuswap Road has received a shipment of fuel from Prince George today, but other locations in Kamloops are said to either be without fuel or with a limited supply of some fuels.
“We thank you for your patience and apologize for the inconvenience,” Tk’emlúps said. “We will continue to mitigate this issue.”
