
Vernon North Okanagan RCMP say they’re investigating a crash that killed a two-year-old child near Falkland yesterday, Jan. 29.
Police say they were called to assist BC Emergency Health Services paramedics at a rural property off Highway 97 near Falkland around 4:15 p.m.. Police say they were told the child had been hit by a vehicle on the property.
“The critically injured child was transported to hospital but sadly did not survive,” RCMP Const. Chris Terleski of the Vernon North Okanagan Detachment said.
“No words can describe how absolutely devastating this is for the family and our hearts go out to them and everyone affected by this tragedy.”
Terleski says criminality is not suspected as a factor in the crash.
The BC Coroners Service is also investigating the crash.
