Kamloops RCMP are investigating a residential break and enter that happened at a Dufferin-area house early Saturday morning.
Police say they were called to the 1400-block of Cannel Drive around 4:15 a.m. on Feb. 3, to reports that two men had broken into a home.
Mounties say the suspects left the home when they were confronted by one of the residents inside, and that no one was injured in the incident. They also say nothing appeared to have been taken from the home.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says security footage in the area showed two people running from the area at two separate times that morning. The first was just after 2:15 a.m., and the second was around 4:12 a.m., just before police were contacted.
“The images are not clear, but we are releasing one to the public in an effort to try and identify who the people might be, and also request that those in the neighbourhood check any dash cam or security footage to see if it captured anything that could be related,” Evelyn said, noting the police dog team was not able to locate either suspect.
“Maybe two people were observed running to another residence or to a vehicle nearby. It’s possible something was recorded around either of those times that may have seemed insignificant initially.”
Police say one of the suspects was described as a white man, standing five-foot-ten, with short brown hair. He was wearing a black hoody with white writing, and black pants at the time.
People with information that may be related are being told to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-3418.
