The Kamloops Blazers gave up seven unanswered goals, en route to a 7-1 road loss to the Cougars in Prince George Friday night.
It was the Blazers heaviest defeat since a 7-1 loss in Portland on Jan. 15, with Kamloops winning seven of 11 games since that defeat on Martin Luther King, Jr., Day.
Ashton Ferster scored the lone goal for the Blazer on the night, when he opened the scoring at 14:28 of the first period.

Zac Funk’s 50th of the season tied the game at 17:25 of the first period.
The Cougars then scored five in a little over 10 minutes in the second period though Carlin Dezainde (2), Funk, Riley Heidt short handed, and Borya Valis to lead 6-1 after two periods.
Chase Pauls rounded out the scoring with the only goal of the third period at the CN Centre Friday night to hand the Cougars their second 7-1 win over Kamloops this season.
Blazers starter Dylan Ernst, who was pulled after allowing six goals on 32 Prince George shots in 40 minutes, picked up the loss on the night.
Cougars rookie Joshua Ravensbergen turned aside 22 of 23 shots to pick up his 19th win of the season.
The Blazers drop to 16-31-3-2 on the season, to sit at the bottom of the WHL’s Western Conference with 37 points in 52 games. The Cougars improve to 36-15-0-2 and continue to lead the B.C. Division with 74 points in 53 games.
The two teams will rematch at Sandman Centre on Saturday night, with puck drop set for 6 p.m.
The Blazers will then host the Victoria Royals in their annual Family Day matinee on Monday with puck drop at Sandman Centre set for 2 p.m.
