Kamloops City Councillors have unanimously approved a new 191-unit residential building located in the 1000-block of 8th Street on the North Shore.
The Pulse on 8th is set to rise on the lot currently occupied by Country Auto Sales, adjacent to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and a 7-Eleven
The development will include two six-storey buildings, one of which will be contain 126 rental units and ground floor commercial space, while the smaller building would see 65 units created for specifically for low rent seniors housing.
“This significant milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Total Concept Developments, as we embark on the construction of a 191-unit residential building in the heart of the North Shore,” a statement from Total Concept Developments said.
“After diligent planning and collaboration with the city, we are pleased to share that the council has also agreed to discharge a no-build covenant that was previously placed on a portion of the property. This decision paves the way for our vision to come to life, allowing us to utilize the space more efficiently while maintaining a respectful distance from neighbouring single-family homes.”
At this time its not clear when construction will begin, but its expected to be sometime next year.
