Kamloops RCMP say they arrested 27 people and seized a large quantity of drugs and weapons over a four day period that targeted drug traffickers and local gangsters.
They say their enforcement efforts – which included the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit British Columbia’s (CFSEU-BC) Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) – began on March 20, with a goal of “reducing and suppress violent offenders in the community.”
Police say they seized more than two kilograms of illegal drugs including suspected meth, cocaine, and fentanyl, as well as two handguns, a replica handgun, knives, bear mace, and batons over the four-day period.
“The Kamloops RCMP Detachment remains steadfast in our strategic priorities by targeting individuals involved in drug trafficking, weapons offences, and violence,” Superintendent Jeff Pelley said, in a statement.
“Through collaboration with local units and UGET, we strive to address the root causes of crime while upholding the principles of justice in the pursuit of an even safer community. The dedication of multiple units and officers reflects our ongoing efforts to combat serious offences and further enhance public trust and safety.”

Pelley also says Kamloops Mounties will continue to utilize intelligence-based approaches and joint-partnerships to help hold violent offenders accountable and reduce their presence in Kamloops, Supt. Pelley added.
“We appreciate the continued efforts and support of CFSEU-BC in Kamloops, which undoubtedly had a positive impact disrupting the drug supply and violence in the community,” Kamloops RCMP Targeted Enforcement Unit Sergeant Kevin McIntyre said.
“We are committed to working with all of our law enforcement partners to ensure as safe a community as possible.”
Kamloops RCMP say over the course of the weekend, they created 24 files “related to the targeted enforcement.” Those files included motor vehicle investigations, suspicious vehicles and occurrences, warrant executions, prohibited driving, weapons, and drug offences. They also say a stolen vehicle was recovered, but details weren’t released Wednesday.
“Collaboratively working with the many policing agencies in our province contributes to the overall success of CFSEU-BC to fulfill our mandate in reducing the incidents of gang-related criminal activity and associated violence that threatens the safety of our communities in British Columbia.”
