RCMP say two people were taken to hospital after a disturbance at a house on the western outskirts of Kamloops, not too far from where the Trans-Canada and the Coquihalla meet.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says they were called to the 1600-block of Lac Le Jeune Road around 7:45 a.m., April 29, after a man was heard screaming inside a house.
She says the officers on route were notified that there had been an assault involving a weapon, the details of which were not made public.
“On scene, two people were transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries,” Evelyn said. “At this time, the incident appears to be targeted and the general public is not believed to be at risk.”
“The investigation is still early and ongoing, with assistance from the General Investigations Support Team, Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification Services, and frontline officers.”
People who witnessed the incident – or those with information or video that might be related – are being told to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-12442.
