Kamloops Blazers prospect Tommy Lafrenière has been named a co-MVP in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) U18 Prep division.
Lafrenière, the Blazers’ eighth round pick in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft, shared MVP honours with Daxon Rudolph, who was taken first overall by the Prince Albert Raiders in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.
The 17-year-old Lafrenière put up 58 points (27 goals and 31 assists) in 30 games with the Yale Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep team this season.
He also scored three goals and added two assists in three CSSHL playoff games.
Lafrenière also skated in nine regular season games with the Blazers last season, where he recorded four points (two goals and two assists) in his 16-year-old WHL season.
The product of Saint-Sauveur, Que. was also named a CSSHL’s B.C./U.S. Division First Team All-Star for his efforts last season.
