Kamloops Blazers product Harrison Brunicke, along with the rest of Team Canada, are heading home from Finland with a gold medal.
Team Canada got past the Untied States 6-4 in today’s final in Espoo, Finland.
The victory gives Canada its first gold medal at the U18 World Championship in three years.
Brunicke finished the tournament with a goal and three assists, also finishing plus 11 on the tournament.
Tij Iginla, son of former Kamloops Blazers great Jerome Iginla, scored the winning goal in the final on Sunday in Espoo.
Medicine Hat Tiger Gavin McKenna notched a hat-trick and an assist in the Gold Medal game.
Team Canada swept the tournament in Finland with a 7-0 record.
Blazers goalie coach Dan De Palma was part of the coaching team.
