Merritt RCMP say a 35-year-old man – who is well known to them – is facing a dozen new charges after a string of violent incidents on Wednesday.
Police say they responded to eight separate incidents in the downtown core of Merritt that began at 1:30 p.m., May 8, noting no serious injuries were reported.
They say the man who was “assaulting innocent parties” seemingly at random – was arrested in the Diamondvale area around 9:30 p.m.
Mounties say Kevin Edward Young – is facing four counts of Assault, three counts of Uttering Threats, four counts of Breach, and one count of Mischief. He will remain in custody with a court appearance scheduled for Monday.
