RCMP say the man who was wanted after an armed robbery at a convenience store in Merritt last Friday has been arrested.
Police say the man – who was not identified was “safely arrested” in downtown Merritt after a tip from the public. He is police custody and is facing several charges, including robbery with a firearm.
The manhunt began after Mounties were called to Bob’s Mini Mart at 2801 Clapperton Avenue around 1:45 p.m. on May 10 following reports of a robbery at gunpoint.
“The Merritt RCMP wish to thank the community for their vigilance and patience while officers carried out the search,” BC RCMP spokesperson Cpl. James Grandy said, in a statement.
Grandy says the investigation is ongoing.
