The B.C. government is testing new updates to a new DriveBC website that is currently in beta testing.
In a news release, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says the goal of the updated website is to make the province’s online highway information portal easier to use and personalize.
“There will be a simplified map and a less cluttered look. The site will offer clearer event notifications and new advisory features,” the statement from the Ministry said.
“New route planning will focus information about specified trips. There will also be a stronger focus on the mobile experience, which is how most people access the site.”
The Ministry says people can check out the new website and then provide their feedback via a survey.
“That input will help the site designers streamline and modernize British Columbia’s main source of information about highway conditions,” the statement continued.
It is not clear when the new website will formally launch, but people are being told to continue using the existing DriveBC website to plan their trips as the new test site is till being developed.
You can find the new DriveBC test site and take part in the survey here.
