Kamloops Search and Rescue says a 35-year-old man died of a cardiac arrest after a dirt bike accident in the Monte Creek area last Thursday, May 30.
In a post on Facebook, KSAR says it was called to assist BC Emergency Health Services, but note the rider succumbed to his injuries.
“Our sincere condolences to his family and friends,” the post said. “We are sorry for your loss.”
In an email, BC EHS told Radio NL it was called to a motor vehicle incident near Highway 97 in Monte Creek. around 12:40 p.m. that afternoon.
“An air ambulance, an ambulance with primary care paramedics, an advanced care paramedic response unit, and a supervisor responded to the scene. Paramedics did not transport any patients to hospital,” Paramedic Public Information Officer Brian Twaites said.
At this time, it is not clear what caused the crash, with KSAR noting they helped to transport the man’s body to the Coroners, who are investigating.
