Kamloops Fire Rescue attends Monday fire at Scott's Inn Restaurant/submitted to Radio NL
Scott’s Family Diner, located at the Scott’s Inn and Suites in downtown Kamloops has been forced to closed indefinitely after a fire Monday morning.
In a post on Facebook, owners of the diner say there were no injuries reported after the fire, which broke out around 8 a.m. June 3.
“It started in the kitchen vent and damage was isolated to that system,” KFR told Radio NL in statement. “Crews did a great job with a fast knock down. The maintenance people also did a great job with the use of a fire extinguisher.”
While the fire was knocked down before 9 a.m., the extent of the damage caused is not yet known. It is also not clear what caused the fire.
“At this time, we are closed and unsure about our reopening date,” the Scott’s Family Diner Team said, in their statement. “We are working diligently to assess the situation and will announce our reopening plans as soon as possible.”
“We appreciate your understanding and support during this challenging time.”
Fire has been knocked down. Appears to be limited to the kitchen. Crews are checking for extension and doing overhaul.
