Kamloops RCMP are investigating the sudden death of a man over the weekend.
Mounties say they were called out to a home on the north shore on Saturday afternoon to find a man inside with serious injuries, the cause of which were unclear at the time.
“On Saturday June 8, 2024, around 3:20 p.m., Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline officers responded to a residence on the 600-block of Sydney Avenue, where an unconscious man was located inside with what appeared to be blunt force injuries,” said the RCMP in a release. “He was transported to the hospital and sadly died in the early hours of Sunday June 9th.”
“As part of the sudden death investigation, police executed a search warrant on the residence to help determine what occurred and if any criminality was suspected,” said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson.
RCMP say they’re working with the BC Coroners Service, which is conducting its own, separate investigation.
