The Kamloops Blazers have signed another Manitoban prospect who was part of the 2024 draft class.
Cole Secord, who was drafted in the third round, 62nd overall, is the fourth member of the Blazers 2024 draft class to commit to playing WHL hockey in Kamloops.
Secord, from La Salle, MB played for 26 games for the Pembina Valley Hawks U15 AAA team last season, where he put up 28 goals and 54 points. He also added seven goals and 11 points in eight playoff games.
“Cole has skill, is smart and plays with grit. He makes plays in the offensive zone with great instincts,” Blazers’ Manitoba Scout, Brad Davis said after the draft.
The five-foot-nine Secord joins fellow Manitobans forward Asher Gingras and defenceman Madden Tymchak along with Calgary defenceman Joaquin Geras as 2009-born players to sign with the Blazers.
Cole just has that look as a player to me from being around him at Development Camp. He’s the fourth to sign from 2009 age group. https://t.co/kPE2KCwpk7
