RCMP say criminality was not a factor in the death of a man who was found “with serious injuries” inside a North Kamloops home earlier this month.
Police say they were called to a house on the 600-block of Sydney Avenue around 3:20 p.m. Saturday, June 8, where they came across an unconscious man with “what appeared to be blunt force injuries.”
The unidentified man was taken to Royal Inland Hospital where police say he died of his injuries early the next morning.
“Following the results of the sudden death investigation, police do not suspect criminality was involved in the man’s untimely death,” Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said, in a statement.
Police did not disclose the extent of the man’s injuries and how he got them, with Evelyn noting police will not be releasing any further information regarding their investigation.
The BC Coroners Service is conducting its own investigation into the man’s death.
