A 31-year old man is expected to survive, after being seriously assaulted Thursday night outside his home in Upper Sahali.
The Mounties were originally called out just after 9:30 last night to reports of a man causing a disturbance in the relatively quiet area of Springview Place, just off of Springhill Drive.
As they were enroute, officers received a second call for the same area, where a man was being assaulted with a weapon by the same person causing the original disturbance.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect was later located nearby, and taken into custody, where he remains.
“At this time, the motive for the assault is unknown,” says Cpl. James Grandy, BC RCMP spokesperson. “The investigation is ongoing, with RCMP asking anyone who witnessed any part of the incident to call them.”
RCMP say at this point, they’re not sure what led up to the assault, and are asking for witnesses to come forward.
