Kamloops RCMP say a woman in medical distress died at a home in Upper Sahali that is known to police, though criminality is not believed to be a factor.
Mounties say they were called to the 500-block of Carmel Court around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, to assist BC Emergency Health Services and Kamloops Fire Rescue, after an “insecure firearm” was found inside the house.
Police say they seized a loaded semi-automatic rifle from the house and are investigating.
“Sadly, a female in medical distress did not survive attempts by emergency personnel to revive her,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said. “At this time, criminality is not believed to be involved in the sudden death investigation, which is being conducted concurrently with the BC Coroners Service.”
Evelyn says people with information are being told to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-22650.
