Portions of Aberdeen are being asked to limit their water use through Tuesday as crews work to repair a broken water main.
“We were basically able to identify a leak. That was just upstream of the booster station. So we’re going to get that repaired. We’ve been planning it for a few weeks, and now we’re all ready to go,” said Utility Operations Supervisor Will Horne.
Horne says they anticipate being able to complete their work on Tuesday and be able to lift the temporary restrictions.
“The areas affected are north of Aberdeen Drive, excluding Drummond Court, the West Highlands area, including The Links, upper portions of Garymede Drive and Laurier Drive, and then of Greenock Court and all of Garymede Court. So not even all of Aberdeen,” noted Horne.
Those who might lose their watering privileges through the day will not be given any day in lieu.
“We’re on, sort of, a three day rotation with the new restrictions. To those folks who missed their opportunity on Tuesday, I believe their next day is later in the week. So, we’re not replacing it or doubling down on a day,” noted Horne.
