Kamloops RCMP say six people were injured after a single vehicle crash on the Yellowhead Highway this morning, July 23.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says emergency responders were called to the crash at the intersection of the Yellowhead Highway and Old Highway 5 near the Tolko mill around 9:48 this morning.
Evelyn says police arrived to find that a vehicle had gone off the road and crashed into a light fixture. She says of the six people who were injured “several” were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“Kamloops Fire and Rescue assisted with the extrication of at least two people from the vehicle, which had rolled over,” Evelyn said.
At this time, it’s not clear what caused the vehicle to go off the road.
Evelyn says people who witnessed the crash or have video of it should contract police if they haven’t already. They’re being asked to call the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-23559.
