
Dunn Creek wildfire burning east of Little Fort/via BC Wildfire Service
A new evacuation order has been issued in the North Thompson near Little Fort.
The Dunn Creek wildfire has grown to the point where it’s prompted the Thompson-Nicola Regional District to tell people on four properties in the area to leave immediately.
Twenty-two other properties in the area have also been added to an existing alert for that fire, bringing the total number of properties on alert in the area to 32.
Those being forced out are being directed to call the Clearwater ESS at 250-674-1253.
The Dunn Creek wildfire, which began as a lightening-sparked blaze on Monday afternoon east of Little Fort, has ballooned to over 12 square kilometers in size.
It’s currently burning on the east side of Dunn Lake.
It’s been growing northward toward Dunn Creek Provincial Park, as well as Boulder Creek 5 Reservation.
