
RCMP have confirmed that a woman from the lower mainland was killed on Sunday afternoon in a crash near Savona.
A pickup heading east clipped the ditch.
RCMP the driver over-corrected and flipped the pick-up into the westbound ditch.
Mounties say passenger was found dead when emergency crews showed up, while the other woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“Both occupants were trapped inside, with the Fire Department having to assist with extraction,” said the RCMP in a release. “The female adult passenger was found deceased, while the adult female driver was taken to hospital with serious, and believed to be life threatening injuries.”
Both of them were from Port Coquitlam.
That crash shut down the TransCanada at Savona for around 7 hours on Sunday afternoon and evening.
