RCMP mug shot of 41-year old Cameron Cole/via RCMP
Kamloops RCMP have nabbed one of the alleged local drug kingpins they’ve been hunting for.
A short release by the Mounties Wednesday afternoon says 40-year old Cameron Cole, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for firearms-related charges, has been located.
“Cole was arrested on August 12th by the Kamloops RCMP Targeted Enforcement Unit and remains in custody pending a bail hearing,” said S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet with Kamloops RCMP.
The arrest warrant for Cole was put out on August 2nd.
Cole is one of two men publicly identified by Kamloops RCMP as leaders of rival drug dealing operations which have been at war with one another for several months.
The other is 25-year old Justin Hunt.
Cole narrowly escaped being shot outside the Sandbar Restaurant in early July, after gunmen opened fire, prompting the vehicle he was in to plunge into the Thompson River.
