Kamloops RCMP say they have arrested a suspect following an hours long stay in Knutsford.
Police say they arrived on scene in the 3000-block of Rose Hill Road at around 7:00 am for a report of an assault in progress.
Officers were soon able to confirm the victim had left the residence and was safe, but that the suspect may have access to weapons, including firearms.
“Due to the perceived risk presented by the possible presence of weapons, the assistance of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team was requested to help keep the situation as safe as possible,” said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson.
After a number of hours on scene, a suspect surrendered in the early afternoon and was safely taken into custody.
