On Thursday, November 7, Sun Peaks is presenting a ski film tour stop in Kamloops, at the Paramount Theatre.
Sun Peaks Resort has partnered with the Teton Gravity Research ski film tour, to present the Kamloops stop on the tour.
Beyond the Fanatsy features several BC athletes. (Alex Armstrong (Whistler), Nick McNutt (Squamish), Ian McIntosh (Revy), and Simon Hillis (Rossland)), plus there’s a segment filmed at Mike Wiegele’s Heli Skiing, just 2.5 hours north of Kamloops.
Doors open at 6:30 and the film will begin at 7:30.
Promoter Francis Argouin says the film tour supports the non-profit organization Kootenay Outdoor Recreation Enterprise, based in Kimberly “KORE is basically a nonprofit. The main goal for core is to help entrepreneurs in the outdoor industry that are starting, either they’re launching a new product or a service. Specifically in the outdoor industry, they’re based in the Kootenays, and basically there’s about 60 members, and core is an association which helps these members bring their product to market or their services.”
“It’s interesting because there’s a lot of local BC talents in the movie,” said Argouin. “And it’s just a good way to start the winter season by watching a good ski movie.”
Those who attend the Kamloops film showing will have the chance to win a ton of winter swag from various brands, as well as a 2-night, 2-day ski package with the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel. Argouin says you will have a great chance to win if you attend. “And there’s a grand prize that happens at the end of the tour in British Columbia, where a lucky winner can win a head to toe ski package. It includes apparel, a pair of skis, goggles, all with a retail value of about $3,000. So there’s tons of prizes and stuff going on as well.”
