The BC Prosecution Service says no criminal charges will be laid in connection to the collision that occurred on November 29, 2023, in Kamloops that claimed the life of a TRU Wolfpack volleyball player and seriously injured two others.
The BCPS says it has conducted a senior level review of the charge assessment decision that was made on November 25, 2024, in relation to the crash and it will continue with a prosecution under the Motor Vehicle Act.
“The circumstances of this case are tragic. One young adult lost his life, and two others were catastrophically injured.”
Owyn McInnis was killed in that crash, which also severely injured fellow TRU Men’s Volleyball players Riley Brinnen and Owen Waterhouse — both of whom are still attempting to recover from life-altering injuries.
The courtroom will be open to members of the public and the media when the accused makes his appearance on December 23, 2024, at Kamloops Law Courts.
